Attending WordCamp Mumbai was Fun!

As you might be aware that I was one of the attendees along with nine of my friends at WordCamp Mumbai. We arrived at Mumbai on 24th of March, checked into Shivar Guest House, Sion and attended the camp on 25th and 26th of March.

Reaching Mumbai and First Day of the Camp

The first day we reached Mumbai was spent on taking some rest and walking around the locality searching for food and other refreshments. The next day, which was the first day of the camp was quite exciting. We booked two taxis to IES Manik Sabagriha, Bandra and reached the venue on time. After that we had our breakfast and then checked in to that venue and got our identity cards for the event.

Morning and Afternoon Session Talks and Group Discussion

Soon after that, the event was kick started after some delay. Talks on how to get more involved with WordPress, WordPress translation & localization, developing multi-lingual websites using Polylang plugin, writing PHP the WordPress way was presented respectively by Rocio Valdivia, Makarand Mane, Aurovrata Venet and Rahul Bansal in the morning session. After that, we visited every booth set up over there by the sponsors and collected all the swag goodies they handed out.

Once we had collected everything, we went on to have lunch and it was continued by a group discussion on ‘Manual vs. Automated Testing’ by Bigul Malayi, Ankit K Gupta, Khyati Gala, Vibha Tiwari and Sudar Muthu.

Then, we were provided with a glimpse on WP-CLI by Anand Thakkar.

Evening Session Talks and End of Day One

Now, it was time for some tea and snacks. After gulping down a glass of tea and some snacks, we returned back to the auditorium to listen to Tarun Parswani, Sandeep Raman and Sudar Muthu speak on optimizing WordPress for customer success, best practices to adhere to when building first WordPress plugin and developer tools that can be used to increase productivity as a web developer respectively.

Day Two of the Event – Final Day

Day two of the event was not much different from the first one except that another set of speakers were there awaiting us to share their knowledge and experience.
