How to write great blog posts

If you have just stepped into blogging or have been blogging for long but yet to see the results, do not put down your hopes yet. Every single blogger has the potential to become a brilliant writer over time with consistent efforts and smart thinking. Everyone needs to meet failures at least once in a while to  make then work harder and overcome the shortcomings, rejections and fear.

Everyone has their own unique style of writing and you shouldn’t try to copy other’s style. Accept your own style as the best and don’t give it a second thought. Publishing something with a grammatical or spelling mistake doesn’t mean it is the end of the world. It happens not only with you but with other professional writers as well. And what if someone doesn’t like what you are writing or has an ignorant point of view? Bash them up? No! You should ignore them and completely move on with your life. Never drain your energy on things which you would not like to focus in your life.

Well, here are some tips for you to improve your writing skills. Though you cannot start writing brilliant blog posts overnight, you can get better with each and every post your publish.

1. Practice Makes Perfect

Every single successful blogger or writer out there once started out with many mistakes. Later on, as they kept writing again and again they fine tuned their writing skills mastered the art of writing. For beginning, you can start writing regularly on your blog – try to publish at least four medium-sized posts in a week or write for at least forty-five minutes per day for the entire week (effectively 315 minutes on the whole). Make sure you enjoy what you are writing else it is a waste of time and energy. Doing something with lack of interest will put all your plans in jeopardy.

2. Enjoy What You Write

Try to write more on topics which you like – it doesn’t matter whether you write on your favorite smartphones, android apps, music genres, movie reviews, erotica, how-to’s, geek news, etc. And do not make your writing tone to look too unnatural. Make the best use of your natural flow of words. You can also write and share your favorite moments of the day on your blog – not only will it help your streamline your flow of writing but also it will act as your personal diary in the future which you can look back to, to cherish your best moments. The ultimate goal is to make yourself enjoy what you are writing so that you don’t feel exhausted and can go on for long periods of time.

3. Come Across Writer’s Block

Writer’s block is nothing but the condition or situation where, you are not able to think of what to write on your blog after a few days of writing continuously. Writer’s block is just in your head and you need to overcome it to become successful. The easiest way to overcome it is to write on whichever topic that comes to your mind first – no matter how silly it may be. You just remembered about your favorite cookies? Well, go ahead and write about it. Read a poem somewhere and got some thoughts on it? Go ahead, share it with your followers. No matter what, just keep writing.

4. Make Your Writing Look Good

Now that you’ve adapted yourself to writing, you should start concentrating more on how your content looks. Create compelling headlines which forces your readers to click on and read your related posts. Having a compelling headline for your posts will also increase the chances of users clicking in from search engine result pages. Format your blogs posts so that they look good on any device and ask for feedback from your readers on how to further improve your blog. You can also use a tool like Grammarly to make sure everything you type is easy to read, effective and free of mistakes.

5. Make Your Voice Heard

Your blog is like your world and you should feel free to share whatever you want on your blog. Just because some of your readers did not like reading about your evening coffee, it doesn’t mean you should stop posting about it altogether. If you feel there’s something wrong with the system, you should feel free to vent out your thoughts to the world. Afraid of receiving backlash from your readers or getting trolled? Don’t worry. Haters will keep hating. Do not ever lose your voice on your blog. Make sure it is heard through every single post of yours.

Conclusion

Do not ever feel ashamed if you’re not able to write properly. Trust me, it won’t take long for you to become successful if you follow the above mentioned tips. Remember, persistence is the key. Just keep writing no matter what. It doesn’t matter how many people are reading it. All that matters is practice and how often you can write at a stretch without taking a break. Writing a blog shouldn’t be scary for you, rather it should be a happy experience and it should leave you refreshed.
