If you have been blogging for quite sometime, you would have realized that some bloggers are immensely popular than other bloggers in the same niche. Sometimes you might feel that these unrecognized bloggers deserve a better place and a wider exposure for their content. It is totally not in your hands to help them out. To be honest, they are not able to make it big in the blogosphere because they don’t know how to carve for themselves a nice place in their respective domains (niche).
There are many reasons why some bloggers are successful while the other vast majority are not. Let us now try to breakdown the aspects which make a blogger successful or well at least not a failure. By becoming a successful blogger in your niche, you can establish yourself as a reliable source of information and value to the readers and other online publications. Now, here are some tips which may help you to improve yourself and become a better blogger in your niche.
Have a Time Management Strategy
There is nothing which is more important than managing your time if you want to become a successful blogger. Try to choose your topic and make plans beforehand so that you don’t waste too much time brainstorming just before you open your editor screen. Always exercise a conscious control over the time you spend on blogging, you don’t want to waste your time sitting in front of your PC and doing nothing. Pre-plan everything and execute it all at one right after booting your device and firing up the browser window.
Improvise. Adapt. Overcome
If you really want to make it big in the blogosphere, you should be ready to improvise, adapt and overcome. You must always strive to improvise your content and your communication skills. The way you convey news to your readers must make them accept yourself as a ‘pro’ blogger in your niche; it really doesn’t matter if you are totally new to this or you have been blogging for a long time.
You should adapt yourself and your writing to suit your readers. Checkout your most popular posts and pages from the stats page (or analytics dashboard) and analyze them. Try to understand why these particular posts performed better than the rest of your posts, you didn’t create them unequally did you? You literally spent the same amount of time and resources on creating each and every post. But why aren’t all pages getting the same attention they deserve?
Overcome. Overcome your fear of writing. Try your hand at creating controversial content – spark a debate among your followers. Convey your raw emotions through your posts. Don’t worry if someone might take it in a wrong sense, that is none of your problem. Words are more powerful than you can imaging. Use it to bring about a movement in the life of your readers. Overcome the hurdles you face everyday before creating new content for your blog. Remember that your followers are waiting for you to post the day’s quota so that they can read and talk about it.
Write Content for your Audience
When I say write content, I mean ‘write content for your audience, not content about some thing’. By doing so, you resonate with your readers and you fall in line with them. Remember, you are not writing content for search engines but for real living human beings who read, drink and breathe. Once you understand what your readers want and expect from your blog, you can get a clearer view of what to publish. You cannot understand your audience as soon as you start blogging, it takes some time for you to grow your audience and readership first. As you start publishing often, you will begin to understand your audience – what they love, what they dislike, who they are, what converts well for you and what does not.
Network with Other Bloggers in Your Niche
You cannot stay a lone wolf forever in your niche, get out and connect with other bloggers in your niche. Who knows, you can even collaborate with them on a post or two to bring about a variety in your content. By networking with other bloggers, you will be able to learn certain aspects which you are not familiar with. You can also share your knowledge with others and provide value to your niche industry on the whole. There are even chances for you to stumble upon a company representative in your niche and partner up with them to provide more value to your readers.
By building bonds with other bloggers in your niche, you would get a chance to promote your content in front of their audience and if they are truly interested they might subscribe to your posts too. But don’t network just for the sake of building links to your site, other bloggers can see right through it and may exclude you from important blogger meetups, discussions and exercises.
I am a staunch believer that every blogger has the right to establish themselves in their respective niches. It literally doesn’t matter if your spelling or grammar is not good, all that matters is your content and audience. And more importantly, be consistent – don’t keep jumping between different niches. If you follow all the above suggestions, I can assure you that no one can stop you from becoming the next most successful blogger in your niche.
